Conquering the Himalays on Two Wheels

Picking Your Path

  • Mountain Biking: Colorado boasts some of the most challenging and exhilarating mountain bike trails in the country. If you're an adrenaline junkie, do your research and choose a trail that matches your skill level. Remember, full-suspension bikes are ideal for tackling rough terrain and we’ve got a wide selection for any adventure.
  • Road Biking: Whether you're cruising scenic byways or conquering mountain passes, Colorado has a paved path for every cyclist. Road bikes are perfect for covering longer distances efficiently.
  • Family Biking: Numerous paved bike paths and easy-going trails wind through charming towns and scenic landscapes. Explore our youth bike options to get your child on the trails with ease! We also sell sturdy adult hybrid and comfort bikes for a relaxed ride with the whole family.
  • Electric Biking: Looking for more power and less pedal? An e-bike might be for you! Their powerful assistance lets you conquer hills and travel farther, making cycling accessible to all. Make sure to review marked signs and e-bike riding rules before hitting the trails.

Do you already own a bike, but it needs some TLC? Our in-store experts have years of experience and will help you get your wheels in shape for your next ride. Explore our in-store services and learn about the benefits of regularly tuning your bike in our expert blog.

Packing Essentials:

Each of our seven convenient locations offer a wide selection of bike accessories to accompany your ride, with product favorites from Trek, Specialized, Scott, Troy Lee Designs, Fox, Pearl iZumi and more! No matter your chosen route, here's a handy checklist to ensure a smooth ride:

  • Everyday Essentials: Helmet, spare tube(s), patch kit, pump, tire levers, multi-tool, sunscreen, sunglasses, and water bottle to stay hydrated under the Colorado sun.
  • Comfort Items: Snacks, backpack, rain jacket, and comfortable clothing for yourself and your little riders.
  • Safety First: Depending on the difficulty of your chosen trail, consider adding a bike mirror, first-aid kit, and emergency whistle to your pack.

What to Wear:

Wearing the appropriate apparel is a key factor to consider in your biking adventure. Check-out our recommended list and ask our in-store experts for help finding the right material, style and fit:

  • Layering is Key: Colorado's weather can be unpredictable. Dress in breathable layers that you can easily add or remove as temperatures change. Moisture-wicking fabrics are the key for optimal support.
  • Footwear: Sturdy shoes with good grip are essential for both mountain and road biking. If you're hitting the trails, consider wearing proper cycling shoes with cleats for better power transfer.
  • Sun Protection: Colorado's high altitude means stronger UV rays. Pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to shield yourself from the sun (when you’re not wearing your helmet).

Weatherproofing Your Ride:

  • Check the Forecast: Colorado's weather can change rapidly. Be sure to check the forecast before your ride and pack accordingly.
  • Be Prepared for Rain: A lightweight, packable rain jacket is a lifesaver if you get caught in a sudden shower.
  • Hydration is Crucial: Colorado's dry air can be deceiving. Pack plenty of water and stay hydrated throughout your ride.

With a little planning and the right gear, you're all set to conquer Colorado's stunning landscapes on two wheels. Need 1:1 expertise help to get you prepped for your ride? Drop into any of our stores and ask an expert for help to ensure a seamless bike ride.

So, buckle up, hit the trails, and get ready for an unforgettable biking adventure!
